Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the Android application published under the package name com.atlasapps.prayer, displayed as Prayer Times & Qibla, Namaz Vakitleri & Kıble, مواقيت الصلاة والقبلة, or Horaires de prière & Qibla depending on the user’s language.

The application is developed and published by Yasin Bayram.

Overview

Prayer Times & Qibla is designed with privacy in mind.

Prayer times, the Qibla direction, the Hijri date, reminders, and related prayer information are calculated and managed primarily on your device.

The app does not require a user account, and the developer does not operate a backend server that receives or stores user profiles or prayer-location information.

Optional features you turn on yourself — including an Adhan that plays an audio file you choose and a prayer tracker — work on your device only. The selected audio file and your prayer tracker entries are not uploaded or sent to the developer or to advertisers.

Since version 1.4, the app displays one banner advertisement at the bottom of the Home screen using Google AdMob.

The app does not provide the location, coordinates, or manually selected city used for prayer-time calculations to advertisers.

Location

The app may request access to your approximate foreground location when you choose to use your current location.

Approximate location is used locally on your device to:

The app does not request precise location permission or background location permission.

Prayer-location coordinates are not stored by the app and are not transmitted to Yasin Bayram or to a developer-operated remote server.

You can use the app without granting location permission by selecting a city manually.

The location, coordinates, or manually selected city used by Prayer Times & Qibla for prayer calculations are not provided by the app to Google AdMob or other advertisers.

Information stored on your device

The app may store application settings locally on your device, including:

This information remains in the app’s private local storage and is not sent to the developer.

Prayer tracker entries are also stored locally on your device and are specifically excluded from the app’s Android backup rules, as described below.

You can remove locally stored application data by clearing the app’s data in Android settings or uninstalling the app.

If Android backup is enabled on your device, Android may include other application settings in your device backup according to your Android and Google account settings.

Prayer notifications, reminders, Adhan and widgets

If you enable prayer notifications, Adhan, before-prayer reminders, or Iqama reminders, the app may request permission to send notifications.

On supported Android versions, the app may also ask you to allow precise alarm scheduling so that prayer notifications, Adhan, before-prayer reminders, and Iqama reminders you enable can be delivered closer to their calculated times.

These permissions are optional.

If precise alarm access is unavailable or later revoked, the app may use Android’s best-effort alarm scheduling instead where supported.

The app may use Android system events, such as device restart, time changes, or time-zone changes, to restore reminders that you previously enabled.

Home-screen widgets display prayer information already calculated on your device.

These functions do not transmit your personal information to the developer.

Adhan audio — optional

The Adhan feature is off unless you turn it on in Settings → Adhan.

The app does not include or download an Adhan recording. You choose an audio file yourself using Android’s system file picker.

To play the selected file at the prayer times you enable, the app keeps:

The selected audio file is not copied to the app’s servers, uploaded, or sent to the developer, advertisers, or other third parties by Prayer Times & Qibla.

When an enabled prayer time arrives, the selected audio file is played once using Android’s alarm audio usage, together with an ongoing notification that allows you to stop playback.

Playback follows your device’s alarm-volume and Do Not Disturb settings. Prayer Times & Qibla does not change your device’s volume or Do Not Disturb configuration.

Turning the Adhan off keeps your chosen sound so that you can use it again later.

If you clear or change the selected sound, the app removes its reference to the previous file and releases its permission to access that file.

Prayer Tracker — optional

The Prayer Tracker is off unless you turn it on in Settings.

If enabled, you can mark prayers as completed for the current day.

Prayer Tracker entries:

Prayer Tracker data is excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer by the app’s backup configuration.

Tracker entries older than 60 days are automatically removed.

Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app removes Prayer Tracker entries stored on that device.

Quran content and sharing

The Daily Ayah feature contains locally bundled Quran verses and translations.

Arabic Quran text is sourced from the Tanzil Project.

English translations use Marmaduke Pickthall, and Turkish translations use the original translation by Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır, as credited in the app.

A French Quran translation is not currently included; when the app is used in French, the Daily Ayah is displayed using the available Arabic text.

The app does not transmit information about the verses you view.

When you choose to share a Daily Ayah, you can share it as text or as an image.

Verse images are created entirely on your device and are stored temporarily in the app’s private cache for sharing.

Android’s system share functionality passes the selected text or temporary image only to the application you choose.

Prayer Times & Qibla does not receive information about how the receiving application handles that content.

The app also includes a Share app option. When you use it, Android’s share functionality sends a short message containing the Google Play link for Prayer Times & Qibla to the application you choose.

The developer does not receive information about who you share the app or Quran content with.

The privacy practices of any application you choose to share content with are governed by that application’s own privacy policy.

Advertising — Google AdMob

The Home screen displays one banner advertisement provided by Google AdMob using the Google Mobile Ads SDK.

Consent and privacy choices related to advertising may be handled using Google’s User Messaging Platform.

Prayer Times & Qibla itself provides the advertising SDK only with information necessary to request and display the banner, such as the ad unit, banner size, and the configured maximum ad content rating.

Prayer Times & Qibla does not provide the advertising SDK with:
